Sailing Directions 171 (Enroute) covers East Africa and the South Indian Ocean from Cape Agulhas to the west coast of Somalia, including the islands west of Madagascar, namely the Prince Edwards Islands and Cap Saint-Andre. It is issued for use in conjunction with Sailing Directions 160 (Planning Guide) South Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean. The companion volumes are Sailing Directions 172, 173, 174, and 175.
